ANTI-COLONIAL PRAYER TO FERNANDITO TUPAC AMARU




Painted anticolonial prayer as an ex-voto to the rebellious spirit of Fernandito Tupac Amaru, son of Micaela Bastidas and Tupac Amaru II, who after being arrested by the Spanish colonial authorities after the uprising led by his parents in 1780 was forcibly exiled to Spain and died in the Lavapiés neighborhood in the year 1799, a neighbourhood which now a days is characterise for being a migrant and antirracist district.
