TRIBUTE TO THE FALLEN
On October 12, during Spain's National Day, characterized by its anti-colonial and anti-imperialist character, celebrated with a military parade presided over by the government and the monarchy, and a day on which far-right activists are widely present in public spaces, a parade was held in the city of Madrid carrying a poster with the face of Samba Martine and the following inscription: "Samba Martine, after 38 days detained in the Aluche Detention Center, died in the 12 de Octubre Hospital."
The following places were visited:
Plaza de Colón: This is one of the most emblematic squares in the city of Madrid. Every October 12th, the military parade to celebrate Spain's national holiday culminates in this square.
Calle Doctor Fleming #48: Home of Moises Tshombe during his exile in Spain between 1963 and 1967. Moises Tshombe was directly involved in the death of Patrice Lumumba and later received a
asylum authorization in Spain approved by Francisco Franco.

“Illegal” detainees are detained for periods of up to two months in this centre prior to forced deportation. Samba Martine stated more than 10 times that she was not in good health while she was detained in
this center.
